Frequently asked questions
How do I know if my water is hard?
A hardness test is enough: a few drops of reagent in a little water give you the hardness in TH degrees. Above 15 °TH water counts as hard, and above 25 °TH as very hard. EGBT SA technicians run that test during the free visit, across Geneva and the canton of Vaud.
Where can it be installed?
Anywhere you have 492 mm of height, 235 mm of width and 475 mm of depth near the incoming mains: under a kitchen sink, in a bathroom, a cupboard or a utility room. It needs no power socket and arrives with its two connection hoses.
Softy or Lylö: which one?
Softy treats limescale, and it does so in a minimal footprint, without electricity. Lylö goes further: it softens, filters particles and removes chlorine, pesticides and PFAS. If limescale is your issue and space is short, Softy is enough. If you also want to improve the water you drink, choose Lylö.
What upkeep should I expect?
A salt refill, with a recommended 10 kg load and a consumption of only 270 grams per regeneration. Commissioning is included in the price, and the annual service by EGBT SA extends the parts and labour warranty from two to five years.
